This year has been difficult for all of us in so many ways. Despite these struggles, so many people have changed course and rebounded creatively, breaking through road blocks – which has been so inspiring, while at the same time helping to cause a ripple effect of growth in the world.
I am fortunate to be a part of a wonderful sisterhood of women: artists and entrepreneurs who have exhibited this kind of pivoting and persevering for which I am so thankful. In honor of the upcoming Chanukah holiday which is all about finding the light in darkness, I have chosen to share 8 women (unsolicited and not sponsored) who have kept going through during Covid 19 with very very inspirational products.
If you know me, you know I love double meanings, things that serve multiple functions and out-of-the-box ideas. The following items all fall in those categories and I am so excited to share them with you:
Tic Tac Toe Menorah
This Chanukiah by Laura Cowan has a dual purpose- it’s a game and Chanukiah in one! Use it to light your candles and once they go down the pieces become an epic Tic Tac Toe game for all ages that you can play with year round. They all store nicely in an attractive tin. And check out the website for an awesome video!
Mask Convertible Necklace
This product displays pivoting specifically for Corona times. This mask convertible necklace by Arielle Salkin is a chain of genius. Who has been running around doing errands and lost your mask in the chaos of life? This necklace holds onto your mask in a handy place when you take it off in your car or house. A great innovative gift for anyone during these strange times! Be sure to check out the other unique jewelry too!
Olive Oil, Honey and Zaatar Gift Set
This box of yummy Israeli products is wholesome not just in taste, but in its background message as well. This company run by Caroline Mercer bridges cultural divides between Arabs and Jews who work together to harvest and market these fair trade items. Help bring peace while enjoying the fruits of Israel.
Chanukia/Wall Art
This is another Chanukiah with a secret second life. Designed by Mandy Broder, you can use it on Chanukah to light your candles and the rest of the year it is a unique piece of wall art to warm your home.
ArtTrivet
Yes- I am putting my own product here because I think you will like it and, well, author’s prerogative :). Beauty, functionality, affordability and kindness to the earth are all important to me. That’s why I use recycled materials to create these decorative table runners that protect your table and look great, too! I have two designs unique for Chanukah but every design makes a good gift year round. Discounts available both on YaelHarrisResnick.com and on Amazon.
Jerusalem Embroideries
This pandemic has led us all to discover new hobbies. These embroidery kits by Yehudit Klinger are simple yet you can create an intricate design. You get several benefits: a creative activity, a new skill, and a beautiful piece of art at the end!
Healthy vegan skincare products
It’s a custom to consume fried oil on this holiday but with these products by Sima Navon you can also put oil on your face! With no harmful preservatives, these serums are a wonderful gift for your skin!
Conquer your Clutter
Now this is an original gift: the anti-gift! Don’t we have enough stuff? What we all really need is to get rid of more things. With this course by Rebekah Saltzman you can learn how to get rid of the clutter in your life to better love the stuff you already have! And now with more time at home, what could be better than being inspired to organize your space?
